eating snacks all around the world

Hallo-wee!

As a reward to my students for doing well on their speaking/listening exam last week, and as a general nod to "teaching about Halloween," I'm showing The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror (with Korean subtitles) and eating snacks in my afterschool classes today. And, those are my only two classes.

Haha. Today is a good day. Sometimes teaching is awesome.

I hate you. I asked if we can watch a movie and they said absolutely not. Apparently it makes the parents think we are lazy. Halloween today was a joke. They made me buy a costume. Then I had to take the mask off to pose for pictures with EVERY SINGLE KID, by themselves. So costume was pointless, their exact reasoning why I had to take the mask off: "we don't want it to be controversial, the parents will accuse us that it is a Korean teacher in that costume and not a native english teacher." So about 75 awkward pictures, with mask marks and disheveled hair. They told Jenna she would carve pumpkins with the kids... she got one pumpkin... already carved... and she had to sit with each student on her lap and pose for pictures with them sticking spoons in the pumpkin, as if they were carving it. lol my hagwon is RIDICULOUS. lol now back I go for five more periods of this.
